THREE STEPS TO FOLLOW AFTER AN ACCIDENT
There are several things to keep in mind after being involved in an accident. It's best to always be mentally prepared. It's understandable that things may get hectic. Follow these steps if you can:
-
Step 1: Do not leave the scene. If you do, you can be accused of leaving the scene of an accident, a criminal offense.
-
Step 2: Call 911 to report the accident. If you don't have your phone with you, find someone who does and have them call 911.
-
Step 3: Use your phone to take pictures and film videos of the scene of the accident. Capture the entire scene, including each vehicle involved from different angels, the nature of the roadway, road signs, road conditions, and injuries to you or your passengers. Also, take pictures of any skid marks on the road and debris from the accident.
